Do innowave systems reduce anthrax and smallpox?

The bacterial, viral, and different chemical sabotage and terrorist threats have not yet been encountered in waters and, thus, have not, of course, been incorporated in Drinking Water Treatment Unit product designs or performance standards including those issued by NSF, the USEPA or the Water Quality Association. Specifically, innowave drinking water treatment unit products have not been tested and certified for their effectiveness in reducing these exotic chemical or biological sabotage agents.

However, distillation, UV, and fine filtration units may provide additional protection barriers against many of these agents. For example, anthrax spores are two to six microns in size, similar to protozoan cysts. innowave products tested and certified for their effectiveness in cyst reduction likely would also effectively reduce anthrax. Many biological organisms are inactivated by heat in a POU distillation unit like the innowave 270. Similarly, ultraviolet light, as in the innowave UVF, disrupts the reproduction mechanism in microorganisms, rendering them inactive. Regarding chemical agents, carbon filters used in innowave products may reject or adsorb these toxic compounds, although carbon filters used in innowave systems may not have been specifically tested for a particular chemical.

How can innowave systems help me increase building security?

In the wake of recent tragic events in New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania, the issue of building security is on the mind of every employee. Many companies are already imposing changes to create a safer facility for employees and undergoing safety precautions to secure buildings from outsiders.

Drinking water is one area of safety that cannot be taken for granted. Before the demand and implementation of tougher security measures, drinking water may have been an issue left unnoticed. Now, in a different light and a new security era, delivery of drinking water may take on a new dimension involving logistics.

As point-of-use drinking water systems treat water on site, they eliminate the need for deliveries of bottled water. This enhances building security, reducing the need for outside personnel to access your premises.

Many companies are also invoking new rules that restrict parking near or in front of buildings, which could also make bottle delivery a hassle and now a security issue.

innowave drinking water systems from AquaPrix help assure peace of mind. They provide the highest quality drinking water while offering enhanced security and many other benefits.

How can innowave systems protect the health of my employees?

All innowave drinking water treatment systems treat your tap water on-site. Although your drinking water is safe, you may choose to further enhance its quality using a point-of-use system. innowave systems use a variety of treatment technologies to address a variety of contaminants in drinking water. Each system is tested and certified by NSF or the WQA to reduce specific types of contaminants. The innowave 240/270 and UVF are also tested to USEPA Standards for Microbiological Water Purifiers assuring 99.9% reduction of microbiological contaminants. Water contaminants generally fall into one of four categories - microbiological, organic, inorganic or radioactive contaminants.

The American Journal of Public Health states that 35% of all gastro-intestinal illness is waterborne and preventable. Installing a system that can help reduce the risk of waterborne illness can lead to a healthier lifestyle, reduced absenteeism and a safer working environment. Employee satisfaction means better morale and increased productivity.

What are some of the other benefits of point-of-use drinking water systems over bottled water?

Point-of-use systems take ordinary tap water and treat it on-site, reducing taste and odor complaints and addressing a variety of contamination issues. Because water is treated at the point-of-use, it eliminates the need for bottles in the workplace. Eliminating bottles requires no lifting of heavy 5-gallon bottles that weigh almost 42 pounds. This can help to reduce the risk of injuries associated with lifting and potential worker's compensation claims.

Since point-of-use systems refill automatically, you won't run out of water. People avoid changing bottles. In fact, you may go to get a glass of water only to find that the bottle is empty, even though there is a full bottle on the floor next to the cooler. Point-of-use systems also take up much less valuable floor space. With point-of-use systems there is no storage of bottles. This eliminates clutter and dust-collecting bottles, while freeing up office space.

No deliveries will mean fewer interruptions to take staff away from their work. The dirty footprints and office damage that can be associated with deliveries are no longer a concern. With a point-of-use system no ordering needs to take place. There is no guessing how many bottles to order and wondering if you will run out. An added benefit of not writing and processing orders it that it saves valuable administrative time.

You can simplify budgeting and billing by using a point-of-use drinking water system. Instead of a variable bill every few weeks, innowave point-of-use equipment dealers offer level monthly or quarterly payment plans. This can help you manage your budget, while providing the best quality and a plentiful supply. Fewer invoices to process will lead to fewer billing related hassles.

Increased building security is another benefit of point-of-use systems. There are no weekly delivery people on your premises and no trucks blocking driveways and taking up space in your parking lots. On-site treatment gives you the assurance that your water is "Made Fresh" every day. You will know how and when your drinking water was treated. And because it all happens at the point-of-use, there is no risk of recontamination from aging pipes or delivery systems.

Bottled water is treated using a variety of different technologies. There are many different processes used, each affecting water quality differently. In fact, 25% of bottled water is ordinary tap water according to the International Bottled Water Association. With a point-of-use system, you always get what you pay for better quality water.

Bottled water coolers have exposed reservoirs that can become contaminated. Someone's hands may be dirty when they are handling and changing bottles. And the gurgling sound you hear when bottled water dispenses is potentially contaminated air entering the bottle. You can offer your employees better protection from germs and bacteria with a self contained, point-of-use system. It shows them you care about their health.

According to the WWF, the conservation organization, bottled water puts 1.5 million tons of plastic into the environment worldwide each year. PVC or PET plastics most frequently used for bottled water create excessive waste and pollute our natural environment. By changing to a point-of-use system, your company is doing something better for the environment by eliminating waste.

Best of all, innowave point-of-use systems are tested and certified. When you evaluate a water treatment system, look for NSF Certification, USEPA testing standards and the Water Quality Association Gold Seal. These are your assurance that the system will do everything it says it does and you are getting what you pay for . . . great quality drinking water.

All innowave systems are tested and certified, completely eliminate bottles and deliver all of the benefits of point-of-use technology. We are sure there is an innowave system that's right for you.
