“In 1998 when EFI was preparing to move 700 employees into a new headquarters building in Foster City, CA, Penny Mika, Facilities Manager, began the search for safe, good tasting drinking water for the employees. EFI had always provided bottled water and many believed it was the best quality. The down side was bottles all over the place, coolers that were not maintained and leaked, the bottles were so heavy that facilities people had to be called to change them and the bottles and coolers seemed unsanitary. Not a very good system for the high-tech 90s.

We were concerned about safe water. There was a continuing stream of news stories relating problems with water quality and health issues. Our employees are young, knowledgeable and health conscious. Fortunately, Randy Brown from AquaPrix called on us at the right time. He introduced us to new patented technology from innowave incorporated, a subsidiary of Mutual of Omaha. We were impressed with the health benefits and the ease of use.

But taste was going to be a significant driving factor in the decision-making process.

We allowed the employees to taste the water and give us feedback. It was unanimous everyone loved the taste. We decided to install the innowave ® uvf units in all of the kitchens and break rooms in the ® new building. Many of the innowave uvf features have proved beneficial.
