Compaq employees drink fresh, safe, great tasting water for their good health

When Randy Brown, Sales Representative from AquaPrix, made a sales call on Peggy Williams at the Compaq manufacturing site in Fremont, California, he learned she was ready for something new. For a long time she had wanted to get rid of the bottles. She was tired of the hassle and the eyesore, and she was concerned about employee injury when lifting those 5-gallon, 42-lb. bottles. Recently, Peggy, herself, had dropped a bottle and water went everywhere. Luckily she didn’t injure herself, but she almost slipped and fell while trying to mop up the mess.

Although Peggy was busy when Randy called, she made time to meet him at a local job fair where he told her the story of the new innowave 270®. He emphasized the health aspects and the commitment of innowave® and Mutual of Omaha to providing the safest drinking water available. Compaq, like many of the high-tech companies in the Silicon Valley, has a commitment to employee wellness and is continually looking for ways to improve its work environment. Among the benefits that the Fremont facility offers employees are dry cleaning delivery, a fitness center, on-site oil changes for employees’ automobiles, and they are in the process of installing on-site ATMs.

Compaq initially installed 14 innowave 270®s and will add several more as the 450 employee population grows to 600 in the next few months. “The innowave 270®s have been a great success,” Peggy said. “Employees here are well read and educated. Many went to various web sites including the AquaPrix web site to learn about the technology and the purity of the water. Best of all, the water tastes great. It is cool, fresh and clean tasting. And we don’t have to worry about repercussions from contaminated bottles or tap water.”
