Provides Safer Drinking Water for Employees

Vitria Technology is a premier Silicon Valley company that provides eBusiness infrastructure software. Vitria is definitely in the fast lane. Vitria’s main product is BusinessWare®, software that enables companies to conduct business electronically across corporate networks and the Internet. In September 1999, Vitria was rated by the Silicon Valley Technology Fast 50 as number seven showing revenue growth at an astounding 11,284%. In August, the company moved 150 employees into a new 64,000 sq. ft. corporate headquarters in Sunnyvale.

Providing quality drinking water for employees was one of the main concerns for Vitria’s Kelley Hunter. “We have highly talented and intelligent employees. They are health conscious, informed and passionate about health-influencing issues. They are also outspoken about what they like and the taste of drinking water was a determining factor. When Randy Brown from AquaPrix (formerly AquaPrima) called me regarding a new generation of water treatment technology from innowave, inc.®, a Mutual of Omaha Company, I was skeptical. I had a hard time believing any really new technology could replace our beloved bottled water. I was immediately impressed by his professional appearance, his business savvy and the comprehensive proposal he prepared for Vitria. He even showed how much square footage we would save by getting rid of the bottles and included statistics on the risk of injury to employees from lifting bottles and ensuing cost for worker’s comp claims.

“After a great presentation, I was just afraid this new technology would be too expensive. Randy’s cost comparison was favorable and showed that AquaPrix would actually provide us better quality water and save us money at the same time. The only question left was: Would the employees like the taste? Hands down, they all preferred the fresh, clean taste of the steam distilled water produced by the unique 3-step process. Our only problem after installation was usage. Suddenly we had converted everyone to avid water drinkers. The new systems could not keep up, so when we began to plan our move, we discussed other options with Randy and AquaPrix. They proposed the new innowave 1800®s. The 1800® produces 60 gallons a day and is plumbed to strategically located coolers. They never run out. We installed two innowave 1800®s in the new building and now as our regional offices expand, we provide them with the innowave 270®. When we moved into our fancy new digs, we found another use for our great AquaPrix water. In the lobby of our new corporate offices, we have a glorious waterfall sculpture. We use distilled water to protect the waterfall sculpture.
